These paintings are composed of abstracted subjects and exist to represent intangible concepts. There are times when emotions can change quickly, much like when an unexpected storm approaches. These pieces are built through various layering techniques with variations in paint viscosity. Some areas were built up to be scraped and stripped away to reveal the layers that exist underneath- to represent the layers of human emotions. Color Grounds is a body of work inspired by weather patterns and its effect on the land and atmosphere; these pieces exist as a reflection of the layers of human emotions and how they can alter everyday life.
