Dualities in Nature is a body of work that is metaphorically inspired by the dualistic properties of nature. These landscapes are meant to be recognized but not explicitly depicted; to reside on the borderline of reality and abstraction. They are created through a meditative process to reflect and work through the challenges of my life. These paintings are visual representations of my ideal sanctuary; a place that exists between two extremes, to create a place of solace.

I’m inspired by artists like JMW Turner and Jaquie Gouveia, to create landscapes that exist beyond the boundaries of reality, that are completely my own; landscapes that do not rely on complete form and literal depictions of space. Through my language of abstraction, I give enough information to identify space, with areas of uncertainty to warrant exploration.
